These settings are only applicable if you have a wheel and pedal setup, NOT if you drive with a controller or Keyboard. This is personal preference and you can play with the settings until they are at your liking, but here are some general settings for drifting in AC. So don’t get discouraged when you still can’t drift well after a few days, hang in there and keep practicing, you WILL get better, trust me. I personally spend weeks before I was able to drift through corners without spinning out every corner I tried to tackle. It isn’t easy to master, but once you get good at drifting it is really fun to do and you will spend many hours behind the wheel drifting the Japanese Touges or other tracks. If you aren’t bothered about experiencing the G-forces then drifting in Assetto Corsa is very fun and the physics of the game come close to real-life drifting. What’s it like drifting in Assetto Corsa? So So you will never be able to answer with a confident yes when wondering if drifting in Sim Racing games is realistic. Drifting in a sim racing rig that is stationary on the floor can never give you the same sensation of G-forces and the feeling when your car starts to lose grip to going into a skid.Įven if you have a motion rig it will never be able to convey the G-forces you experience during real-life drifting. Apart from adjusting the force feedback on the wheel I haven’t tried adjusting the car settings, if I should, what settings are recommended?Īlso which cars would you recommend? I've tried several of the Maclarens and Ferraris but still lots of others I've not played with. I’ve drifted plenty of cars in real life, done several rally courses in mk 1 rear wheel drive escorts and driven a lot of fast rear wheel drive cars on track days so I’m fairly competent at power sliding a car in reality, and whilst this game does seem realistic (much more so than any other racing game I’ve played, except for dirt rally which I love equally as much!), I just can’t seem to get this right. I ease off the throttle and straighten the wheel as the car comes back into line like I would in a real car but it still seems to spin off. The most success I’ve had is with the E30 M3 which handles beautifully, I can do nice power slides with that and its nice and smooth and manageable but with the faster cars straightening back up on exit just seem so violent that whatever I try i just spin off. Basically, I can catch the slide initially fine, I can then hold the slide with the right amount of opposite lock applied and control it with the throttle, but when exiting the corner the car seem to snap back so violently that no matter how quickly I straighten up, the inertia from it snapping back just sends me spinning off the other way. The problem i’m having is straightening up when exiting the corner. Firstly I’m using a ps4 pro with a G29 wheel. I am however having some frustration when it comes to drifting/powersliding. I’m new to this forum and I haven’t had the game long but loving it so far.
